Living is Easy with Eyes Closed...

Last night I went to a Beatles party. It was so, so much fun but now I'm not really feeling that well. What else is new? There were great decorations (crayon drawings of Beatles lyrics taped on the walls), a sing along, and drinks called Strawberry Fields and Yellow Submarine. And that's about all I remember. I know I was playing guitar at some point, which is a horrifying thought, and someone also gave me a tambourine, and at some point I think I may have performed a lap dance to "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." No joke. A lot of people had really clever costumes. I tried to do my makeup like Edie Sedgwick, but it's debatable how well that turned out. It certainly didn't look very good when I woke up today.

Found something fun on the way there.

I don't think this is a very good look for me, but it was kind of fun to try.

Ugh, I do not feel well today.

This is pretty much the only thing I told myself I'd do today: clean this goddamn room. I'm living in squalor. It's pretty embarrassing. I used to think I was a rather clean person, but obviously that's not true.

Yuck.

Also, my left hand is severely bruised from over-zealous tambourine playing. I felt just like Davey Jones. You can't even tell how bad it is in that picture. The bruise is a shocking shade of purple on the outside of my hand, and there is a huge black bruise on my palm. Why do I do these things to myself? These are the sorts of things they say on Intervention.

Let's Party

Bitches, if you were born around 1989, I highly recommend that you download "Big Willie Style" and pregame to it. This shit really puts me in the mood. Now that I'm older, I realize how genius Will Smith is. He took disco hits and rapped some kid-friendly rhymes on top of them.

Plus, if you do this dance at a party, you are automatically cool.

You're so beautiful...you could be a part time model

These are the men of my life right now:

Jemaine Clement, Benicio Del Toro, Javier Bardem. Yum.
Screw Robert Pattinson. He's just not hairy enough. Or slightly weird looking. Apparently, that's what I'm into right now. Good thing my boyfriend hasn't gotten a haircut in like a million years and has some serious facial hair. I guess we can make it work...for now!

Bad Ass

I just want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a really, really great birthday and I am really enjoying finally being able to go to bars and drink (legally)! As a present in return, I would like to present you with the most bad ass use of music in a movie:

This is from Charlie's Angels, by the way. I enjoyed the movie as a twelve year old, but I haven't really seen it since. However, the soundtrack is AWESOME.

I would make a longer post, but unfortunately I'm supposed to have 468 pages of Fatal Vision read for Tuesday...and I'm on page 50.

Birthday

It's my birthday today! I'm FINALLY 21.

However, I'm not really that excited. There's going to be ANOTHER snowstorm today (which I really just can't deal with) and I have to go to the DMV. As if.

Maybe things will look up after work...not.

Make My Funk the P-Funk

Last night was my 21st birthday/disco party. It was a lot of fun, although I certainly overestimated how much alcohol I needed for the party. I have like a gallon of vodka and two cases of beer left over. Oh well, more for me! I could probably have another party with what I have left. Here's some pictures of the night's hijinks.

I want to thank Jon for taking so many great pictures with my camera, because I was definitely too drunk to handle something like that! Also, I want to thank Suzanne, Grace, Paula, and Emily for showing up with a giant pink funfetti cake! It was delicious, and really made me feel special. And I need to thank Carly for taking me to buy drinks, and Eric for shaving a mustache (not that I asked him to do such a thing...)

Bucket List

I've mentioned this before, but I really really want to break into Mike Tyson's abandoned mansion! It's very close to my parents' house, and it looks like the perfect place for a hipster blogger fashion shoot.

Is this not the most unbelievably 90's pad? It's sooooo tacky. I absolutely love it. And you know this was expensive and nice at the time. I can just imagine the crazy ass parties Mike Tyson had there. They probably listened to this:

HRrrrrrrr....I need a time machine!

You can learn more about Mike Tyson's house here (such as how someone owns it now and you can no longer break in...plus I'm thinking it might have been remodeled).

P.S. It has not escaped my notice that Alexander McQueen has tragically passed away. Of course my Bloglovin' feed is littered with tributes. I am very sad about it. He was truly a visionary and a name that people like me (who don't know much about designers) really took note of. No more armadillo shoes :(
